Charlie supported a client who became a bilateral above‑knee amputee following a fall and subsequent medical negligence, as her injuries were not appropriately investigated or treated with X‑ray imaging. This resulted in severe infection and ultimately the loss of both limbs. The client required extensive, holistic support, including sourcing and moving into suitably adapted wheelchair‑accessible accommodation, receiving wheelchair skills guidance and training, and accessing appropriate physiotherapy. Charlie also ensured emotional and psychological support was in place to help the client adjust to life‑changing injuries.

As the client was no longer able to continue in her previous employment, Charlie provided support with benefits applications and explored future retraining options. To maintain the client’s skills, confidence, and social engagement, volunteering opportunities and social groups were identified to reduce social isolation. In addition, Charlie coordinated a comprehensive daily care package to fully meet the client’s ongoing physical and practical needs.

Charlie enjoys a vibrant mix of hobbies, from spending quality time with family and crafting creative cocktails to expressing style through home restoration and design.  With a love for live music and nature, Charlie also finds joy in line dancing and the refreshing escape of wild swimming.
